Weekly Round-up 13 August

Yeovilton 5K – Wednesday 9 August

Another Wednesday night trip away for RFRC last week when 4 members travelled to Yeovil for the latest in the 5K summer series.
Hannah Taunton (in TAC colours) was first lady home in 17.32, well done! Ben Timpson was next over the line in 19.17 with Hannah Kirkman on 23.51 and Gill Taunton finishing in 27.18.
A special mention to Joel Kirkman, Hannah’s son who also took part and completed the course in 27.57. He’s closing on you Hannah!

Weekend Wanderings 12/13 August

It seemed to be a go long and go hard weekend for us at Running Forever. Club chairman Peter Hall took part in the marathon distance in the Salisbury 54321 series, having tackled the ultra distance in previous years.

Ed Bailey was up in Cumbria for the Hoad Hill Marathon, finishing this small race in 4.27.

Down in Cornwall, Lara Bolduc was on the trails with the MudCrew Roseland Trails 20 miler. Mud isn’t something I’m fond of unless it’s in a face pack but these RAT races are incredibly popular.

Getting on his bike (and in his wetsuit) this week was Lee Macklin who completed the Cotswold Classic 70.3 triathlon, that’s a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike ride followed by a half marathon, in just over 6 hours.

There were many parkrun tourists this weekend. Hannah Kirkman was at Long Eaton, Samantha Wharton was by the seaside in Weymouth, whilst Chris Baker was at Tamar Lakes and Sarah Dunne at Gorey. Tourist of the week goes to Sally Tuer who was in Wimbledon looking for parkrunning Wombles. She reports seeing no furry runners but no litter either. Thirty-three members were at the local parkrun in Longrun Meadow.
